Abstract
This study was conducted to examine the relationship between the multidimensional health locus of control and post operative recovery of the patient by using the questionnaires systematized by both multidimensional health locus of control scale and post operative recovery chart of 62 patients going through operation with hystrectomy and salpingo-oophorectomy of patients who were hospitalized in the gynecology ward of K University hospital in Taegu from August 3 to October 3, 1991. The analysis on these questionnaires data was done by using SPSS program¡¯s percentage, average, standard deviation and One Way ANOVA. The results of this study were summarized as follows. There were significant differences in their post operative analgesics use, time of the first gas expelling, and intake of liquid diet according to the multidimensional health locus of control in such order as internal, powerful and chance health locus of control. There were no significant differences in their post operative days of hospitalization, time of the first self-voiding and ambulation, and occurrance of mild complications in accordance with the multidimensional health locus of control.
